Chris Moore submitted a new resource:

Links to useful threads - I found these useful, perhaps others will also.

I put this here for my benefit too. I found these helpful and wanted to remember where they were.
I will probably add more as time goes on...

Although not strictly speaking a thread, I found it surprisingly difficult to locate the BB codes https://forums.freenas.org/help/bb-codes/ in the forum. It's a useful link. I wonder if it should be included somewhere? New users are often curious about how to hide the signature block, which requires the bb spoiler code.

This is a better link to include https://forums.freenas.org/help/ as it covers the BB codes as well as other useful topics. Am I missing something? I can't see a help button/link on the forum home screen to access this link. It's surprisingly elusive.

I found a link (post #8) to a tip to identify disks:
I thought that resource was a good one, but the author deleted it. You can use this from the command line:
diskinfo -v ada0 | grep ident

Just substitute ada0 for the number of the disk you are interested in, for example da2, and the ident will return the serial number of the disk.
If you have a system with a SAS backplane, it might also be possible to turn on the locate LED. It just depends on what chassis you have your system in.

Thanks. It's a shame the normal tools don't integrate all this information more thoroughly.
