My ixsystems freenas certified system crashed today and won't boot up. The box is only 4 months old. I haven't updated it since I got it. It gets stuck right after importing zfs. Here's the last few lines from the boot screen. Any ideas?

OMG. I bought two identical systems back in April/May. One is my primary on-site backup storage, the other is my off-site storage. A couple hours ago, the on-site unit crashed and won't reboot. Now the second unit has crashed! It fails to boot with the same error message. What?

That is scary. It sounds like you bought them from iXsystems. If so maybe you should contact them.

Okay, that is weird. What kind of workloads are we talking about? What's the pool layout?

Same here, on a consumer hardware (my backup system):

Did anything come of this? I'm having the same issue. It just randomly started boot looping in the middle of the night.

Hi!

In my case the culprit was the boot device (a cheap pendrive). I change it for a cheap SSD (32GB only...) and never had this again until now...

I had same issue. During import zpool, the system will crash in 1 second, and I try to import from ubuntu zfs command but tell me the zpool zfs version is more higher and cannot import. Somebody can help please.

Having the same issue on consumer hardware/enterprise hardware. One of my installed plugin used all available ram so the system crashed. Now when importing the pool in Truenas I get a kernel panic and the system just keeps rebooting. I pulled my pool hdds out and connect them to my pc and booted into ubuntu. When running zpool import Plex -f the system hangs and reboots. The pool does import in read only mode but I was wondering if there is any way to recover this pool.
