It all started a couple of weeks ago when I made the decision I needed to get off of Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. in favor of something more secure. I started looking at sync.com, pCloud, Tensorit and then discovered Nextcloud.

Exploring Nextcloud lead me to discover FreeNAS and that trail lead here. Now, instead of simply signing up for sync.com and calling it good, I have all my FreeNAS server parts in route from Ebay and Amazon... talk about a Google rabbit hole, LOL.

Anyway, have gotten lots of good info here that helped me at least pick parts and I at least think I know what I'm getting into.

Welcome! There is a lot of good advice in the resources. Do not rush. Burn your disks in, which will give you plenty of time to continue your research.

Stirred for three whole days!
