iSCSI with ZFS

Just to be sure, you do have the iscsi service started in FreeNAS, right?

Yep, i even turned it off and on just to make sure

What version are you running? 32-bit or 64-bit? I am using 8.0.1-RC1 64-bit and not having any issues.

I semi got it working.. I reset the config to factory settings and finally got Device Extent working...

ESXi finally see's it... but it does not see any disk's?????

Did you remember to associate the extent with the target? I've forgotten to do that before, and had to go back and turn the iSCSI service off, then back on again, then go back into ESXi and rescan, before the disk would show up.

I just did that... and same thing... i noticed in the screen shot i just uploaed.. it isn't showing a lun???

I don't have a LUN column at all on that screen... you didn't mention what version you're running...

np... 8.0 what? What is the build number from your System Information page? Example, mine is: FreeNAS-8.0.1-RC1-amd64 (7508)

Seems like you may have an earlier build since things look a little different and aren't working right...

Ahh yeah see you're on an earlier version than what I'm running... so not sure what to tell you.

The log you posted shows the iSCSI service (istg) is still failing to start.

Maybe time to start with a fresh install of the latest release FreeNAS-8.0.1-RC1-amd64 (7508), which runs on FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE-p2.
