intel pro/1000 problem

a other thing is if i reeboot the FreeNas server i can see that the switch and server NIC goes up in 1000/full but when the
freenas is loading its drivers the link goes down ( when the freenas sever was configurd for 1000TX)

That's probably just part of the link negotiation process, but its a possible clue.

FreeBSD 8.3 may have updated drivers that *might* help. FreeNAS 8.2 will update its base to FreeBSD 8.3 some time in May. If you know how, you could possibly build the driver from that source. There's a good chance if the problem has been fixed there that the driver should work with this version of FreeNAS. I'm sorry, I'd offer to build it and post it but I've got a bit of a full plate.

Thanks protosd, I'm a tad clueless on how to do it, but I have google and the willingness to try ;)

Pretty sure I'm having the same problem with a D-Link Gigabit Card. I'll wait for 8.2 release :)
