Hi everyone,

First time poster. I have a small problem with a Intel I350-T4 4 port gig NIC I purchased for work a couple of weeks ago. I can't seem to get it working in our older servers (HP DL385g2's) that I am looking at turning into an iSCSI target. Looking at the dmesg it says it can't find drivers for this hardware. The strange thing is I am using the exact same freenas installer cd (8.0.4 x64) at home on my HP Microserver and it has detected the I350-t4 cards 4 nic's happily. As I am a relative noob when it comes to Linux could someone help me get this resolved?

I am sure its something simple, I just need some guidance on what to do next.

Cheers,

OzDM

Sounds like an issue with the HP DL385g2. Have you tried any other OS, or talking to the vendor to confirm compatibility?

RedHat 6, Windows 2008r2 and VMware 5 are all picking up the nic's. Seems to be only related to Freenas. Is there a way to force the driver to load towards a particular piece of hardware?

Which driver is it using on the micro server? You might try adding a loader.conf variable to force the driver to load.
