Hello. I tried to install Ubuntu 18.04 Server on VM how in manuals and video tutorials. And I ran into a problem. After creating VM and it started, FreeNAS became unavailable through network. Only way to return control - ssh to one of jails IP and reboot all system FreeNAS. While creating VM tried NIC and Intel e1000, and VirtIO. Result is same. But after creating VM, I can connect through VNC, but not main NAS web interface in same time.
In this process no ways to do mistake, all steps linear from start to finish, but somewhere I done it...where?...

FreeNAS-11.3-U3.1, Intel NUC5CPYB Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N3050 @ 1.60GHz, Physical Memory 8068 MiB

How is your VM getting its IP? Through DHCP? Any chance you've given your VM the same IP as your FreeNAS?

IP getting from drop-down option (provide a screenshots) - FreeNAS IP, IP one of running Jail (101, 103), 0.0.0.0 etc. May be incorrect option I took?

So, in the first step of creating a VM there is a "bind" option that defaults to 0.0.0.0. Somewhat confusingly, the correct choice here is the IP *of your FreeNAS*.

BTW: "jail" is a similar but different concept from a VM, be careful not to confuse the terms.

yes, I understand difference between jails and vm. With jail no problem, working well. But with VM troubles. Want to install pihole and document server for nextcloud on ubuntu and can't.

Made Vlan (192.168.89.100) and set in nic vm this vlan, but in vnc vm - FreeNAS IP (192.168.88.100). Now Work

I was glad early on what was expected; with this setup, VM works, but there is no Internet connection. If you disable hardware offloading in the main FreeNAS interface, then the VM also works with the network... How to setup VM with vlan and internet? Sorry for noob questions, first home NAS like a game at free time
