Hello,

I have installed a Dell R420 Server for a NAS with FreeNAS. The onboard broadcom adapters didn't work, so I added an Intel i350-T2 adapter. The adapter works fine with a back2back link but I receive a strange behaviour with the uplink its second port to our network switch. The adapter report 1000 Full but the system is not reachable. I tried to replace the cable, changes the port but no success. The link is up, but no packets transferred. When I connect the nic to a Cisco catalyst switch (100 Mb full), it works.

Freenas is 8.3.1-p2

Thanks for any assistance!

Greetings,

Chris

If its connecting at 100Mb but not higher speeds I'd think that rules out FreeNAS being the problem and its something else related to your networking hardware or configuration.

Hello cyberjock,

thanks for feedback. I have done a lot of testing..and finally found the network switch to be the cause of the fault. I conected the system to a different bracket and now the nics are running 1000 FD. Sadly the broadcom nics are still shown but are not working.

Greetings,

Chris
