I recently purchased a Super Micro 6049-E1CR45L server with the AOC-MTGN-I2S (https://www.supermicro.com/products/accessories/addon/AOC-MTGN-i2S.cfm) network card (Intel® XL710-BM2).

The installation works perfectly and the system can see the cards, but i need to get the cards configured into 4x10 mode instead of single 1x40. I found the following docs/downloads on intels site, but cant get the command to run.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25851/Intel-QSFP-Configuration-Utility-Linux-
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...twork-Connection-under-FreeBSD-?product=75021

I have downloaded the NVM updater and there arent any updates available:

Intel(R) Ethernet Controller XL710 for 40GbE QSFP+ 6.01(6.01) 1583 00:134 Update not available

When I try to run the configuration utility i get the following error:
# ./qcu64e
ELF binary type "0" not known.
zsh: exec format error: ./qcu64e

Any help or guidance would be super appreciated.

From the looks of those links, you're trying to run a Linux binary on FreeBSD.

I'd recommend booting into a live Linux environment and setting the card's NVM parameters there.

I will see if i can do that. The docs show the supported OS as:

Supported operating systems
Microsoft Windows Server* 2008 R2 and later
Windows PE* 3.0 and later
Linux* Kernel 2.6/3.x and later
Red Hat* Enterprise Linux* 6.5 and later
SUSE* Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP4 and later
UEFI 2.1 and later
Oracle* Solaris* 11
VMWare* ESXi* 5.5 and later
FreeBSD* 10.1 and later

FreeBSD is on there
