Can anyone help me to set up my Sonos system with my FreeNas set up please?

User access is ok as I can edit and add my music files on my mac. However when I try to add the path in to my Sonos set up I'm getting an error.

How can I find the definitive path I need to put in to the Sonos?

Thanks

Is your share setup as CIFS, I think that is what required.

I have my music folder set as /mnt/data/music and shared as music, I have set my music share as browsable by guest.

I have set the music library as //freenashostname/music and entered the username and password.

I have broken my AD integration at the moment so I can't tell the user name format.

Cheers. I CIFS sharing set for it. I'm still can't add the music folder through the Sonos set up though.

I'll have another tinker with it.

Just bought a Sonos system (Bridge + Connect AMP) and getting 2 outdoor speakers for the Connect.

Anyway while they arrive, I setup a separate CIFs share for just my /media/music folder and called it Music. It's guest only (no password) and will be given the IP of the bridge as I only want that CIFs to be for the Sonos.

I expect I will try //freenashost/Music and if that doesn't work //freenashost/music

If either of those fail I'm in deep water.

Keep getting denied going with IP/Music with console showing:

Got my Sonos / FreeNAS / CIFS combination working by setting the server minimum protocol to CORE.

As of FreeNAS 9.10 you will also have to enable NTLMv1 authentication (which is turned off by default because of its known security risks).
