Hdd spin check, console smart test

Hi,

1. How can I check thaht my disks are really spining down and idling ? Through SMART logs ? I do not start sbnzb unless iot's necesseray, but firefly is always on, does it stop my disk to spin down ?

2. Are these commands right for short test : smartctl -a /dev/hda and long test : smartctl -t long /dev/hda ?

There are other ways, but my UPS has a LCD readout of watts being pulled, so I can see it when spindown occurs (you do use a UPS, right). There's also a cheap device called a kill-a-watt which tells you the same thing. Anyway, I think you want this thread.

Edit :seriously ,they never spin down, could it be the cause ?

I think I'm in big trouble, I stoped firefly and sabnzb, but my disks are always spinning.

My tower is damn hot, and it appears it's since 8.2.0 or module ?

HAHA didn't your mother from a other mother tell you to put the fans on

i don't know but i hope their fix it i have my fans on 24/7 last time i went and left the fans of two of my hard drives burnt out and i was like warranty will cover my data and i was right :)

Seriously, why are my drive always on ? I didn't change anything to my pool or pool settings :(
