I just built a FreeNAS system for my home network. Based on an HP Proliant 4 Drive Mini Server. It took me a bit to get the system installed and updated. Currently using two 4TB WD drives each assigned to its own pool. I don't need redundancy as much as off computer storage and could not see how to configure in JBOD format.

Welcome! You're not too far up the road from a lot of the iX developers, we have an office down near Knoxville :)

Hi! Based on your requirement, it seems like FreeNAS is a bit of an overkill. Think of FreeNAS as a NAS on steroids. An off-the-shelf NAS or even a plug-in external drive might be a better option for you.

Anyway, I don't believe JBOD is an option within FreeNAS. The closest would be to stripe vdevs with single disks (similar to RAID0). For more information, refer to this section of the User Guide.
