Gitlab plugin just hangs on 502

I just upgraded to 11.3 and installed gitlab plugin, which is why i was waiting for 11.3. However after installation through the web ui, when i open gitlabs ip to manage it, only thing i get is 502 error:

''

Any clue what could be causing it? I was running gitlab before it was removed from the plugins on the same machine without problems

I made the mistake of updating the plugin after switching to 11.3. I am now getting 500's.
