Freezing on acpi0: Power Button (fixed)

Hello everyone!

Getting this problem: Freezing on bootup with last message being "acpi0: Power Button (fixed)" when trying to install FreeNAS.
CPU: AMD Threadripper 1950X
MB: gigabyte x399 aorus gaming 7
USB: SanDisk UltraFit 32GB

Any ideas?

This motherboard is a gaming board and many of its features will not be used by FreeNAS.

First of all, I would make certain you have updated the bios to the latest version available. Then, I would go into the bios and disable features that you know are not being used by FreeNAS.

My guess is that there may be some advanced ACPI features enabled on that motherboard that FreeNAS does not recognize. Can you control the ACPI version? You might try setting to version 2 or 3 and see if that helps.

Fixed by downgrading to F3j

FWIW, this happens on the X399 Aorus Pro board as well and is fixed after downgrading the board to the F1 BIOS/firrmware. Thanks for following up with what worked for you. :)
