Hello all,

I have modified the file under /conf/base/etc/nsmb.conf for auth for my smb-mount.
But every time when i install the next latest nightly, it overrides the file with the default.
I put the mount command in an task/preinit command and it works with the modified nsmb.conf.

But after update, FreeNAS automatic reboot and then it stuck in boot with the password-prompt because of the missing nsmb.conf data.

Any ideas? is there a way to install the latest nightly without reboot so I can re-modify the file before reboot?
Or can I start an preinit-script under the task which copies the nsmb.conf file from my storage to the needed path?

I worked it out.
I wrote a little script copy.sh, chmod +x, and saved it in my storage.
In the script is: cp /mnt/hdd/file/nsmb.con /conf/base/etc/
And next line the mount command.
Then I go to the FreeNAS under task and put it in as a preinit-script and it worked.
First the file is copied and then it mounts the smb-share.

Yes. This is by design and is explicitly mentioned in the manual.
