SOLVED FreeNAS-11.1-U5 to 11.3 update failed ?

OK so I haven't been using my FreeNAS system for a bit
Finally resolved some network issues and tried to update via the webgui, without success. It couldn;t find an update.

SO I tried manually and told it to use the ISO I just downloaded from the site to my windows computer.
All seemed to be going well with progress bars and what have you but then it said update failed.

What am I doing wrong?
Unfortunately the instructional manual is not illuminating re this problem.

Hmm had to do it using a USB on the freenas machine directly. It looks to have worked.
