Hmm, so by the looks of it all of your drives are unlocked. Can you give me the output of zpool status, zpool import, and sqlite3 /data/freenas-v1.db 'select * from storage_volume;'?

At this point it looks like your drives are unlocked. If so, the issue may now have to do with the error message.

No, I haven't looked yet. I suspect whatever is at the end of this issue will be my problem and will maybe need to order a drive once I'm in to save the data.

Not sure sure if it's related though..

Dec 4 23:10:59 freenas kernel: pid 46948 (zpool), uid 0: exited on signal 6 (core dumped) I'm seeing this in the activity pane. Hope it's a kernel issue and nothing to do with the drive. I've started smartctl -t /dev/da0 on the first drive. Supposedly done on the fifth.

If you suspect any data drives are bad you'll probably want a spare disk ready and burned in ahead of time. Perhaps worth purchasing now so it will be ready when you are?

hmm. At this point I don't really have any answers. I'm not sure if the version etc in this link is relevant to your current system. What version of FreeNAS were you on when you created the pool?

I did find this post which may be relevant as well. Specifically I wonder if somehow the second cache drive you said you had wasn't registering and is causing issues. I noticed an earlier zpool import that it complained about some additional disks being part of the pool but their configuration not being known. How did you go about importing the pool earlier? Did you use the -f flag?

The encryption and importing with a bad cache drive issues I know quite well; I think you're beyond those though. I don't know what is causing your errors exactly and while I'm happy to suggest things I might do if it were my system we are well into the realm of "I'm not sure" and all of the added risk of trying the steps I would suggest.

I started with FreeNAS 11.1 or 11.2. I did the import process through the web interface. I don't see anything about the cache drives anymore.

That is the source code line number I expect. You can check their github page here. Unfortunately, it isn't extremely helpful to me in figuring out your issue.

You could try clearing the zpool errors for that pool and see if the issue persists.

What is the output of zpool history databank01? That will be a lot of output I suspect; perhaps worth uploading as a file. I'm also curious what happens if you run long smart tests on all 4 of your data drives and then gave the full output of smartctl -a /dev/<device>.

You _could_ also try clearing the zpool error and running it again to see what happens.

At this point I would go into debug mode. It is interesting that it seems like as time has gone on your system has gotten more unstable with more issues. I generally would start with low hanging fruit such as the results of smartctl -a <disk> where the disk will likely be something like /dev/da1 or /dev/ada1. The output of that for every test may show issues with a disk causing the errors. Alternatively, if you haven't run smart tests in a while you may want to run a long smart test with smartcl -t long /dev/<disk> and then check the results with smartctl -a <disk>. The results may not say "error" anywhere but there may be issues nonetheless.

I started with FreeNAS 11.1 or 11.2
This may also be related to the problem. It looks like you're on `11.2-STABLE` now but the pool was made in some earlier version? I am not super familiar with issues or their solutions for pools made in earlier versions and then used in later versions of zfs or freenas.

Attached are the results for da0 to da3. Feedback was very quick. Running long test on da0 at the moment. I will be posting fresh results after the four drives are done. As far as setup time, it wouldn't surprise me if I started off at 11.1.. I hope that's not bad. Hahaha

Well, for some reason the interface hangs.. or there's a quiet error somewhere, but i couldn't fish the results. Had to reboot and start over. Is it possible to get another drive in the mix to save it, or am I past that point? Is it possible to take my drives somewhere and do some extreme recovery.. just incase whatever happens here has no success?

I got this while deciding to see if the system could still recognize my pool sine it doesn't register under storage, and I got this:
