My Freenas server has been shut down for a period, and when I booted it, there was some problems. I have experienced problems before, and went through some steps I had tried before. Finally I deleted the USB stick where the OS should reside, did a new installation, and I could import the disks and access the contents of the disks.
I preceeded to install updates, and when the OS restarted, there appeared this on the monitor: error : compression algorithm 64 not supported.

I have not been able to find any solution on this forum and on the internet, perhaps someone has a suggestion?

Regards,
Niels

The server is up and running!
That is nice, but I did nothing to make it run!
Any suggestion is welcome.

You are booting from a flash drive. Correct? These kinds of intermittent problems, when booting the system, happen when the boot device is beginning to fail. Reading data off the boot disk becomes inconsistent.

You need to create a new boot device and discard the old one. Better yet, migrate to a small SSD for the boot device.

Correct, from a flash drive. I´ll change it for a SSD asap.

Thanks for the answer.

End of thread.
