This seems to refer to a quite outdated version of FreeNAS.

You could:
- try the TrueNAS 12.0 BETA that was just published today
- use VMware Fusion on your Mac (if you have it) to prepare the boot medium
- wait for someone other than me to step in and tell you what to do for FreeNAS 11.3 - it's supposedly just a minor tweek at the bootloader prompt, I just don't know which precisely

Do you have a monitor and keyboard for that Microserver?

Try TrueNAS Core 12.0 just published today, I think it's sufficiently stable and possibly it "just works". It has got the way more modern FreeBSD kernel ...

It's the same product, just a name change and some new features.
