hey guys, i built a freenas out of a old work computer just to get my feet off the ground ( should of read recommended hardware but i did not at the time) also have minimal knowledge on the general subjects but i a m learning :)
having a issue regarding a alert (The boot volume state is ONLINE: One or more devices has experienced an error resulting in data corruption. Applications may be affected).

I thought this was my usb boot (sandisk cruiser) so i bought a wd green 32gb to replace it ( much faster btw) . i reinstalled freenas and uploaded my config file but im still receiving the same alert. the 2 iron wolf hdd are brand new also so im a bit confused on the matter. the second problem is i loose my accessability to the freenas on the network (does not show up nomatter how many times i refresh it ect) but im still able to log into the freenas system and plex still works fine.

so a bit of my instinct feels that is isnt really a software issue more of maybe hardware issue. my build is in my signature. any information will help thank you!

The error says it is the boot volume. There is no question about that.
cpu: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6550
No support for ECC and it is an old 'front side bus' memory system, so it will be horribly slow.
ram: 2x 2gb geil pc2-6400
This is not enough memory. The minimum is 8GB. Read this:

so i bought a wd green 32gb to replace it
Exact model number please. Is this a SSD or a mechanical drive?
just to get my feet off the ground
It is usually better to keep your feet on the ground until you can afford the kind of hardware you need instead of using trash like this.

You have a garbage system board with not enough memory and a Realtek RTL8111B LAN Controller. You should be surprised that it works at all. Get some better hardware with an Intel NIC and you will have a much better time. It doesn't need to be new, but as old as you have is just too old.
I am not saying to get this one, but one like this would work for you:

Hey Chris it is a ssd wd green 32gb just odd that its happened twice in a row with a usb boot drive and then a ssd. Both being brand new unless it's sheer bad luck . Ill get some better hardware and hopefully that might help the reliability

Several people have had problems with the WD blue and green SSDs. I think it is a compatibility problem with the chipset inside the SSD. It could also be a timing problem with that old system board. I have seen a lot of problems created by marginal hardware. That is the whole reason we developed our hardware recommendations. It is not the only thing that can work, but it is known to work reliably. Best option for reliability is an Intel SSD or even a mechanical one. I use old 2.5 inch laptop drives for the boot media in my NAS, in a mirrored pair, and for 2.9 years they have been spinning along with zero problems.
