Hi all,

On my HP Microserver N54L. I upgraded my RAM from 6GB to 12GB as i had 0.2 free, since then the ZFS Cache is just biting away at the free memory. Literally on the 9th of June this year - I had 8.5GB free of RAM. Is there anyway to stop this or clear the ZFS cache as it's slowing things down & causing buffering e.g. Plex streaming.

Another thing, when i start watching a film on Plex which is installed as a plugin on my server. It's constantly jumping to 100% and increasing the temperature. Processor - AMD Turion II Neo N54L Dual-Core Processor, 2 Threads.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Kind Regards
Jord

Unfortunately, your CPU is just too old and slow to transcode on the fly. You'll have to optimize your media so your devices can Direct Play them, or move to a newer platform.

As for ZFS cache, it's actually trying to speed things up. It will release memory as the CPU needs it for other things. What you're experiencing again is the CPU memory controller being old and slow.
