Please see sig for my setup. Note that data disks are not hooked up while I'm trying to install.

I'm attempting to do my first install of FreeNAS. Unfortunately, I can't even get to the Installer Menu. When I get to the Installer Boot Menu, I choose to Boot FreeNAS Installer. A bunch of dmesg-style text flies by, and the computer restarts. The last lines I see read:
Code:
Trying to mount root from cd9660:iso9660/FREENAS []...
Root mount waiting for: usbus0

So far I've tried:
  • Two different USB sticks: SanDisk and Kingston
  • Two different methods for creating the USB stick: dd on a Mac and Win32 Disk Imager
  • Several different USB ports on my computer
Any ideas?

Were you able to resolve this? If not, have you checked your BIOS settings?

Turns out it was the watchdog. Even though it was disabled in BIOS, it was enabled by a jumper on the motherboard. I disabled it there, also, and was able to install.
