Costco has a Black Friday sale starting. You can get Seagate Backup Plus Hub 8TB Desktop Hard Drive for $119.99 (limit 3 per member). Even if it is a consumer grade drive, that still seems like a good deal for an 8TB drive. Thoughts?

If I remember correctly those are SMR drives and you want to avoid them for a NAS application. For not much more the WD easystores go on sale pretty regularly and can be shucked for use.

Keep a look out on BestBuy.com for the WD Easystore externals. My backup server has 4x3TB drives currently, and I wanted to expand - I now have four 8TB HGST (now WD) Helium drives, white label, the first pair were $125 each, and the second pair were $130 each, like Jailer said they are easy to shuck.

Happen to be going for $160 today.
