I am so close I cam feel it.

Installed 8.2.0 RELEASE on x64 - ok
Installed the jail + minidlna - ok
Created the mountpoint - ok (thanks to matlock http://forums.freenas.org/showthrea...-0-p1-Clarification-desired&p=32378#post32378)
Installed a client - sees the dlna server - ok

Can't find any media though. I have many folders + a file in the root but no client can see any of my media files.

May be permissions - who can help ?

Code:
jexec `jls jid` tail /var/log/minidlna.log

If it's not scanning all your files it's a permissions or media directory or mount point problem.

Did a tail and it turns out it is a permissions issue.

Got the message: Failed to remove pid file /usr/pbi/.../minidlna.pid: Permission denied

How do I set the permissions so that everybody has full access to the folder holding the media ?

Changing the permissions on the media folder won't fix the problem with the pid file. Have you changed any of the default permissions on the /usr/pbi/minidlna folder? Something funny is going on, those permissions are usually set by the plugin installation script. Also what permission do you have set in the GUI for the jail dataset?
