I currently have a RAIDZ1 made up of 4x2TB drives. I've recently decommissioned an old 4Bay NAS that also at 4x2TB drives in it. I've mounted the new drives and they are ready to go, what I would like to do is take these 4 drives and make it a mirror of the existing RAIDZ1 set. Is this something that is possible? If so, how to do this without destroying the existing RAIDZ1 array.

Thanks

Not possible. FreeNAS doesn't work like that. You will have to destroy the pool and rebuild. If you do rebuild, then I would go ahead and setup a RAIDZ2 as you will have a sufficient number of drives for this to be a good balance between redundancy and available storage.

nojohnny101, thanks, I figured that was the answer, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
