I was hoping that release notes were buried some where I couldn't find. I'll sit tight and wait before upgrading.

Worked well. Jails were down after reboot, but started fine once started manually. Plugin and jail creation with fixed IPs is saner, that should generate less questions on the forums. And a ton of fixes, see link above :).

..and the networking works correctly now! You don't have to select DHCP. You can manually set your IP/gateway/subnet, select your bridges, etc. Nice!

---
Edit: AND you can change VLANs, IPs, etc. and it works!

'Lil bit o'awsome!

Thanks iXguys!

I mean in the list of plugins scrolling laterally, only a few (mostly backup apps) even have a version; most say "N/A".

My plugins are plex, qbitorrent, and sonarr and they are all based on 11.2 p-15

I'm guessing they pushed the 11.3 out before plugins were ported or they didn't update the plugin source to an 11.3 repo

Ok - I see what you mean. It doesn't seem to matter if they are iXsystems ("official") or community plugins but some have a version... and other don't.

My Emby plugin ("official') doesn't give a version (Version: N/A) in the list of plugins. Once installed, it tells me the plugin version is 4.2.1.0_1 and (as stated above) 11.3-RELEASE-p7.

I suspect that you are right - some plugins may have been included but the base not upgraded.

I'll ask the obvious - Did you try up running the update on the plugin?

iocage upgrade -r 11.3-RELEASE jailname

From SSH console. That will update that jail and all other base jails. Clone jails will need to be upgraded individually.

Do a snapshot of iocage first just in case.

I am a base jail bigot for anything long running :).

I just did the update to Freenas 11.3-U2 from 11.3-U1 and I can confirm listing of plugins, and jails is near instantaneous as well as performing iocage console jailname.
A much welcome update, indeed.

Hi Guys,

I`m on 11.3-U1 and the only available update it`s 11.2-U8.

OperationName
Upgradebase-os-11.3-U1-b73ae33bad2e89086140af9fead6274c -> base-os-11.2-U8-8ba69aba1ecc4c3b9aa817078e77f308
Upgradefreebsd-pkgdb-11.3-U1-b73ae33bad2e89086140af9fead6274c -> freebsd-pkgdb-11.2-U8-8ba69aba1ecc4c3b9aa817078e77f308
Upgradefreenas-pkg-tools-11.3-U1-b73ae33bad2e89086140af9fead6274c -> freenas-pkg-tools-11.2-U8-8ba69aba1ecc4c3b9aa817078e77f308
UpgradeFreeNASUI-11.3-U1-b73ae33bad2e89086140af9fead6274c -> FreeNASUI-11.2-U8-8ba69aba1ecc4c3b9aa817078e77f308

There is a method to force checking for a newer version?
I don`t want to perform the downgrade to 11.2-U8, then jump back to 11.3-U1 and say there is no new available to 11.3-U2.

Best Regards,
Robert

iocage upgrade -r 11.3-RELEASE jailname seems to be working the best.

In the GUI, the plugins don't let us pick the repo to be 11.3 vs 11.2 vs anything else, it's either ixSystems or community. There used to be a GUI option for that but I *believe* it's obfuscated and hence command line is our only avenue.

Grateful to Yorick for the quick supply of key information.

To be sure, one stumble out of the gate.

I did iocage upgrade -r 11.3-RELEASE for my plex (plex pass) and it ran to completion and up came.

However, the server settings were unavailable to me until I did a GUI update to the plugin (which ran but indicated no update occurred).

Now, after the GUI update, the server is reachable and editable (e.g., in Plex gui settings.
