Just updated to 11.2-U5 and attempted to install the plexmediaserver plugin:

[EFAULT] Exception: CallError:[EFAULT] pkg error: - multimedia/plexmediaserver :b'pkg: http://pkg.cdn.trueos.org/iocage/11.2-RELEASE/All/plexmediaserver-1.15.6.1079.txz: Not Found\n',multimedia/ffmpeg :b'pkg: http://pkg.cdn.trueos.org/iocage/11.2-RELEASE/All/ffmpeg-4.1.3_8,1.txz: Not Found\n' Refusing to fetch artifact and run post_install.sh! occured, destroyed plex.

Plex version listed under Available PLugins is 1.16.0.1226 but looks like the script is attempting to grab 1.15.6.1079?

Please advise.

Is this still an issue for you or was it a transient error? If still an issue, what is the full output of ifconfig within code tags?

Edit: It's still not fixed. I figured out what was wrong to get the plug ins to list properly.

But now I am getting this when I go to install the Plex plug in:
[EFAULT] Exception: CallError:[EFAULT] pkg.cdn.trueos.org could not be reached via DNS, check your network occured, destroyed plex.

I thought it was a DNS issue. But I can browse to it on my machine, I can ping it through the shell and I've tried both my ISP's DNS settings and cloudflare DNS with the exact same error.

Running 11.2 U5 with plex Version 1.16.3.1402 Up to date without any issues.
I’d recommend deleting the plugin and reinstalling it. Sometimes it’s best to start fresh.

Fresh install of plugin is what generates the error message in post #1.

It appears that the Plex plugin has been updated and the install is functioning now.

Reviving this old thread....

I'm on FreeNAS-11.2-U5 and just tried to install a fresh Plex Media Server(PlexPass version) 1.16.5.1488 and get this error:
Code:
[EFAULT] Exception: CallError:[EFAULT] pkg error:
- multimedia/plexmediaserver-plexpass :b'pkg: http://pkg.cdn.trueos.org/iocage/11.2-RELEASE/All/plexmediaserver-plexpass-1.16.5.1488.txz: Not Found',
multimedia/ffmpeg :b'pkg: http://pkg.cdn.trueos.org/iocage/11.2-RELEASE/All/ffmpeg-4.2_2,1.txz: Not Found'
Refusing to fetch artifact and run post_install.sh! occured, destroyed plex-plexpass.

Any tips to get plex installed? I just nuked my previous jail

I believe, if you run into a problem, just delete and reinstall the plugin. Only thing will be rebuilding database and matching wrongly matched movies and shows, but eventually you will get it back. Not sure how to restore the dB of plex till now. If I figure it out it’ll be a matter of less than 1 hour.

Thanks for your reply...just to be clear, I'm seeing that error message on a clean/fresh install not an upgrade. In other words, I nuked my previously running Plex jail and then attempted to do a fresh install...but am unable to complete the plugin install process due to that error.

Are you a paid plex member? If so and you’re installing the plugin for plex pass, you could try installing the other version. I couldn’t find a lot of difference between the 2.
I think I’m on the free version and I’m still able to sync to various devices. Other devices do show extras and trailers and I also got beta access option to a new player on my iPad.
Maybe install both in different jails and different IP address, see if one works and the other doesn’t, delete the non working plugin and reset IP of the working jail to the one you desire.

OK, after troubleshooting the plex install issues extensively it appears that these resources don't exist--you'll get 404's if you click the links below:
http://pkg.cdn.trueos.org/iocage/11.2-RELEASE/All/plexmediaserver-1.16.4.1469.txz
http://pkg.cdn.trueos.org/iocage/11.2-RELEASE/All/plexmediaserver-plexpass-1.16.5.1488.txz
http://pkg.cdn.trueos.org/iocage/11.2-RELEASE/All/ffmpeg-4.2_2,1.txz

Out of curiosity who is responsible for these packages?

Thx

Thank you for the reply Spiceman much appreciated.

The links I listed above are referenced by the installer for the Plex plugin; how would I use alternate builds when installing the Plex plugin?

thanks again,

thanks again,

I dont run plugins, I just build my own Jail and use pkg. However, I went in and selected available plugins and built one just now and everything loaded up and installed properly. When you go into the Available Plugins page and scan to the page with Plex on it, what Plex version does it say? Here mine shows Plex version 1.16.5.1554 avaiable and Plex Pass version 1.16.6.1592 available.

Sure, install it manually. Once you create the jail, it's just pkg install plexmediaserver; sysrc plexmediaserver_enable=YES; service plexmediaserver start. That does exactly what installing the plugin does. Mounting storage and getting permissions right is the tricky bit, and the plugin doesn't help you there--take a look at some of the resources for detailed guidance there.

iXSystems maintains that package repository.

@Spiceman--thanks for the screenshot; I'm seeing older versions. I'm on 11.2 STABLE; is there a way to refresh the list of plugins that I'm not aware of? Have tried force-reloading the page etc but no joy:

@ danb35--thanks for the advice. I used to use the package for plex but can't recall why I changed to the official plugin...might go with manual install since my son is nagging me to get Plex back online lol. Will file a bug per your suggestion.

thx again,
