Hello,

I used 11.1 on my HPE Microserver Gen 10. With this fix installation worked:
https://www.virten.net/2017/10/fix-for-freenas-on-hpe-microserver-gen10-x3216-stuck-console-issue/

Without this fix the installer stops booting and appears to be stuck at:
pcib0: <ACPI Host-PCI bridge> port 0xcf8-0xcff on acpi0
pcib0: _OSC returned error 0x10
pci0: <ACPI PCI bus> on pcib0

Fix is about editing Grub Menu by adding set kFreeBSD.hw.pci.realloc_bars=1 to the configuration.

But 11.2 doesn't use Grub anymore.

Now I am trying to get similar fix in FreeBSD boot loader but I have no idea where to edit.

Does someone know where I can edit FreeBSD boot loader for that fix?

Thanks :)

Got it:
  • Wait for the FreeBSD Boot menu
  • press 3
  • Press 6 to select "Escape to loader prompt"
  • enter: set hw.pci.realloc_bars=1
  • enter: boot
be happy :)

Test to ensure it is persistent across reboots.

Yes, that's right. For those searching for a solution: You need to add a tunable in the GUI right after first boot:
  • variable = hw.pci.realloc_bars
  • value = 1
