Reboot when receiving a zvol stream from OpenSolaris system

I have an OpenSolaris machine that I've been using as a NAS for several years now, and I'm replacing it with a FreeNAS system. Whenever I try to receive a replication stream of one of the zvols on FreeNAS, the FreeNAS system reboots. It's not leaving any files in /var/crash. I'm using zfs...

My ixsystems freenas certified system crashed today and won't boot up. The box is only 4 months old. I haven't updated it since I got it. It gets stuck right after importing zfs. Here's the last few lines from the boot screen. Any ideas? zfs_ioc_pool_import() at...

    11.2-U5 setting kFreeBSD.vfs.zfs.recover=1 and kFreeBSD.vfs.zfs.debug=1?

Hi all, Can someone tell me if there is an equivalent to setting the two kernel variables (kFreeBSD.vfs.zfs.recover=1 and kFreeBSD.vfs.zfs.debug=1) in the grub loader, in the newer FreeBSD loader? I have a broken pool which causes a panic when importing. I need to enable debug to try and...

Hi, I've been having kernel panics in 11.2U5, but it was also happening on earlier versions. I have the /data/crash dumps, what can I do with this information to help troubleshoot this issue? It happens at around 13-14 days of uptime, and it's a pretty busy box. More info: Fatal trap 12: page...

Can the NAS be set to do "mini" system dumps when the system has RAM > swap size?

As the question says. If there's a system error, a dump is usually automatic. But in my case the boot device is small, RAM is > 100GB and as a result dump is being disabled on startup. I really don't want to permanently lose 128-256 GB of data space on the off-chance I'll need a panic dump...

2017-12-31 noon UPDATE: Solved! When rolling back an OS to an earlier release (in my case to 11.0.U4 from 11.1) you CANNOT restore from the later release's backup; @Ericloewe pointed this out, and after doing a factory reset (on the 11.0.U4 install) I recovered from my 9.3 backup, let it do...

FreeNAS 11.1 iSCSI panic with LUN used by two hosts simultaneously

During testing, we cloned a VMware VM that was using an iSCSI LUN to boot from. The first VM would start up fine but the second always hung during the boot. System has operating for a year : Froze today and will not boot up : Panic

Was browsing through plex when all of a sudden the server went down. I went to check on it and see it is unresponsive (Unfortunately, I didn't have the monitor hooked up to it to see what error I was getting when I initially checked it). Thought I'd just try rebooting it, and upon rebotting it...
