Upgrade went fine from 11.2U7 to 11.3-Release. I'm using FreeNAS for SMB Shares and iSCSI LUNs. System is a SuperMicro 5028D-TN4T

I noticed the logon page still shows the "Legacy Web Interface" as a button/option...clicking it prompts "Log in to Legacy Interface?" prompt then just it reloads the same UI/logon page, but without the "Legacy Web" Interface button...
It appears that the Legacy Interface has been removed? The "Legacy" was so much better and easier to use and I see no improvements or additional functions in the new interface. The dashboard requires you to do some unwanted scrolling to view what was on one page. The clean crisp design is gone.

Yes, it has been removed, as discussed quite a bit up-thread.

The legacy GUI has been described many ways, but "clean" and "crisp" are two I've never seen before. But it definitely took up less real estate on the screen.

Updated to 11.3-STABLE and now my VM (Ubuntu) is not functional. Status says running, but unreachable by VNC or PuTTY.

Check your networking. Log into the jail via the console and see what the networking configuration is. I had to delete my jails, reboot, and then recreate my VLANs and bridges to get jails to work.

In terms of security it is disadvantageous to keep an old front-end in service. It is far better to use front-end dependencies that are actively maintained and in which vulnerabilities are addressed. Unless you intend to only manage your NAS while cut off from the Internet.

I actually really dig the current UI :) .

I reinstalled Freenas 11.3 and then upgraded to 11.3-U1. Plex and Nextcloud are basically normal, but the Reporting function does not work after upgrading from 11.3 to 11.3-U1.

In addition, Nextcloud Jails can't handle the long upload file name, you need to change the file name to a short file.

I found that this was always the case, and I switched to several browsers, including: Chrome, IE11, and Safari. Should I reinstall the 13-U1 version?

If i were you I would go back to 11.3 Release and assess the situation first and make sure everything is working again before jumping to 11.3-U1. FYI, i said before that I have no problem getting all reports on 11.3-U1 but its my Test server. I haven't upgrade production server to 11.3-U1 yet, possible waiting for the next U2 release. Just make sure you save your config file before upgrading.

It seems my login and "Legacy Web Interface" button is on the wrong make/build/site. By default it shows the "Legacy Web Interface" button. If I login where the login screen shows the "Legacy Web Interface" button, I get a pre-11.3 site.

If I click the "Legacy Web Interface" button, login, then i get the new (11.3) UI with the background image, graphs, etc in the dashboard screen.

Is it backward (showing a pre 11.3 UI by default and showing the new 11.3 UI when clicking on Legacy Web Interface)?

I have a 11.3 configuration file, but returning from U1 to 11.3 is a big project. I have been negligent because this has never happened before. I think it's okay to use it, because other than the reporting function is not available, other major problems have not been found. At least Plex can work normally, the previous version will not work.
Thank you very much for your reply!

I was feeling brave this morning, so upgraded both of my machines from 11.2-U7 to 11.3-U1.

No problems on my main machine, and all Jails, VMs and Replication seemed to be working fine. WebUI also much more responsive so far, although I miss my drive temperatures. The backup machine lost the IP address for the WebUI, but added that back in via IPMI and everything looks fine there too.

Nice work IXsystems :D

wait, there were drive temps on the dashboard?

In 11.2-U7, yes! I've had to link to someone else's picture, as I can't find one with a temp, but if you clicked a disk it showed the temperature.

Under 11.3, you're only a click away on the dashboard from detailed disk temperature reports.

Actually, it's more clicks as I have to select all disks, than I have to scroll through a list of graphs. I find the 11.2 dashboard to be more convenient tbh.
