Sorry if i'm naive in asking this, i'm very new to FreeNAS.
My current setup is a single 3tb drive, with data on it.
I have two other blank 3tb drives that I want to add to the pool, and switch the pool to Raid 1. Would this be possible?

Short answer is No, long answer is that it can be hacked. Search for building a degraded pool.

But seriously don’t do that. Find a way to backup the data and rebuild the pool. It’s way safer

What pool configuration are you trying to end up with exactly?

"RAID-1" means mirroring. Are you trying to end up with your three drives in a triple mirror?

You can safely "attach" new drives to your existing drive to create a mirror if that is what you are aiming to do.

I didn't understand, I believe what I am actually looking for is raid 5, where I can lose 1 of the 3 drives.
