What should I do? Have never had this problem before?

You need to setup a periodic SMART test for the drives in your system. In over 13000 hours, this drive has never been tested the first time.
https://www.ixsystems.com/documentation/freenas/11.1/tasks.html#s-m-a-r-t-tests

After you have scheduled recurring tests, all drives can be tested at the same time as the test is internal to the individual drive. I would suggest daily short tests, and a weekly long test. Then you can proceed with troubleshooting this drive, but the first step is to run a long SMART test. That does a surface scan of the disk. Here is the guide:

Also, if you have not already, you will want to setup SSH so you can connect to a terminal session on your FreeNAS instead of trying to use the one in the Web GUI.

I lose no data if I run with long SMART test?

I laid back the same disk do not know if it was a good idea.

Should replace all disks against larger disks in one or two weeks.

The drive dropped out of the pool. Testing is needed to determine why.

It happened when I updated FreeNAS and after the restart.

Can one examine the hard drive without losing data?

SMART test is only a scan to check for fitness. No data will be changed.

Testing may help determine the answer, but we don't know yet.

If you need to or want to upgrade. I am not telling you that you must. The pool layout
indicates that you are using it for hosting virtualization or perhaps a database. Is it above 50% capacity?

There are many tests that can be done that do not damage your data. The "solnet-array-test" that I linked above does a test without damaging existing data.

I have planned to update for a long time when my hard disk space needs to run out.
Think I've used 70-80%.

I have 20 virtual machines on over two server computers over NFS.

Another issue, is it recommended to run system hard drives on SATA on motherboards or must it be HBA cards?

Edit: Unable to download "solnet-array-test".
