Last week, we wrote an article about the launch of the new Central Cambria School District website.  I am pleased to announce that the new website is now award winning!
This whole journey started last year after the 2015 Pennsylvania State Computer Fair.  We entered a website that was designed for our school’s National Honor Society.  At the state competition, our website took third place.  We were extremely happy to place since it was the first year that we had entered the competition, but we were not satisfied.  We decided to return the following year to win it all.  The only problem was that we had no ideas for our next project.  We knew that it had to be bigger and better if we planned on competing at the state level.  Later that week, we heard that our school was looking for someone to redesign the entire district’s website.  We knew that it would be a massive undertaking, but we decided to take on the challenge.
On March 11, 2016, we took the school’s website design to the Pennsylvania Computer Fair’s regional competition.  Our project came in first place which allowed us to advance to the state competition.
On May 24, 2016, we returned to the Pennsylvania State Computer Fair.  Since Andrew Regan and I are both seniors in high school, we knew that this would be our last shot.  We spent hours beforehand perfecting the look and feel of our site to ensure that it was ready for the competition.
After a day full of buildup and anticipation, the awards ceremony began.  The web page design category was the last category to be announced.  All of our hard work and dedication boiled down to this one moment.  We knew it had all paid off when they announced our names as the first place web page design winners.

On behalf of Central Cambria School District, we would like to thank iXsystems one last time, for their continued support and encouragement as we developed this website.  It was a great educational experience for Andrew and I and it would not have been possible without the donated server.
