iXsystems co-sponsors FreeBSD foundation project to implement support of GEM, KMS, and DRI for Intel Drivers. This will allow FreeBSD and PC-BSD® to run on a wider range of hardware.

iXsystems, Inc. Hosts meetBSD California 2010. Instead of a conference format, we used the "unconference" format, where small groups of people joined community-selected round-table discussions.
iXsystems donates new server hardware for the FreeBSD Project's Quality Assurance Tinderbox. The Quality Assurance Tinderbox (QAT) is an automated quality assurance system used to identify problems in FreeBSD ports and packages.
2009
In December, iXsystems takes over the development of the FreeNAS™ Project. FreeNAS™, an embedded storage server solution, was about to switch development from FreeBSD to Linux. iXsystems offered to sponsor the project and has since reimplemented it for FreeBSD 8.
iXsystems marks its most successful year ever with the Intel® Server Growth Award. iXsystems beat out a field of over 300 competitors after posting a year-over-year increase in sales of 82% from 2007 to 2008.
In October, iXsystems moves to a newly remodeled, 15,000 square foot facility in order to expand production capacity and better serve its expanding customer base.
