iXsystems recently unveiled the iX12X2 and the iX12X2-10G models in the Gemini Twin Server class as part of its "Green Computing Initiative". The iX12X2 and the iX12X2-10G deliver next generation rackmount server technology in a power-efficient, rack-dense chassis with two server nodes in 1U of rack space and 4 or 8 hot swap drive bays. The superior processing power density and performance/watt of the iX12X2 and the iX12X2-10G makes them ideal solutions for high-performance computing (HPC) cluster nodes, web servers, or rendering node clusters. They also offer the highest number of CPU cores per rack. The iX12X2-10G features 10G ethernet in addition to dual GigE LAN on each node.
