The Intel X58 Express Chipset supports 45nm Intel Core i7 processor family at 6.4 GT/s and 4.8 GT/s speeds via the Intel® QuickPath Interconnect (Intel® QPI). Additionally, this chipset delivers dual x16 or quad x8 PCI Express* 2.0 graphics card support, and support for Intel® High Performance Solid State Drives on ICH10 and ICH10R controllers. VMWare® Ready certified motherboards deliver flexible virtualization on iX-1104 servers as well.

The iX-1104 features a X58 based Intel CPU, 4 x SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bays, and up to 24GB of DDR3 memory.

Remote Management

iXsystems remote server management (based on the IPMI standard) consists of hardware and software components that allow system administrators to securely manage, monitor, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair servers from a remote location, any place, any time.

IPMI provides many benefits, including:
