AX-22X4

iXsystems Introduces the AX-22X4: AMD Gemini
Four server nodes enclosed in a 2U chassis deliver incredible processing power.

Features

The AX-22X4: AMD Gemini2 features four nodes - like the original Gemini2 - and the power of AMD's twelve-core Opteron™ 6100 processor series.

Each node within the AMD Gemini2 supports the following:

  • Dual Twelve-Core AMD Opteron™ 6100 Series Processors
  • 256GB of DDR3 Memory in 16 DIMM Sockets
  • Three SAS/SATA Hot-Swap Hard Drive Bays

With two twelve-core processors within each of four nodes, the AMD Gemini2 offers an astounding 96 processing cores within only a 2U form factor. Altogether, the AMD Gemini2 contains 12 hot-swap hard drive bays and 64 DIMM sockets for up to 1TB of DDR3 memory. A high-efficiency power supply combined with high-efficiency components and smart technology lower the costs of owning the Gemini2. AMD's HyperTransport™ Technology Assist (HT Assist) reduces cache probe traffic between cores to reduce latency in multi-node systems. The AX-22X4 also includes AMD Virtualization™ 2.0, which enables devices to be assigned directly to virtual machines, increases security for VMs, and boosts I/O performance within virtual machines.

Each node (4 total) supports the following:

  • 2 x Twelve/Eight-Core AMD Opteron™ 6100 series processors supported (Socket G34) Per node
  • AMD SR5670 / SP5100 chipsets
  • Up to 256GB ECC Registered DDR3 1333/1066/800 SDRAM in 16 DIMM Sockets
  • 1 x PCI-E 2.0 x16
  • 3 x SAS/SATA Hot-swap Hard Drive Bays (12 Hot-Swap drive bays total)
  • IPMI 2.0 + KVM with dedicated LAN support

All four nodes share:

  • 720W High-efficiency redundant (1+1) 91%+ Gold Level Power Supply

Remote Management

iXsystems remote server management (based on the IPMI standard) consists of hardware and software components that allow system administrators to securely manage, monitor, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair servers from a remote location, any place, any time.

IPMI provides many benefits, including:

  • Save time and money by configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting servers remotely, conserving on-site resources and saving time.
  • Manage distributed servers from a remote console: a dedicated network card or shared onboard LAN port gives you full access to power management, remote media redirection, and remote KVM access.
  • Better Disaster recovery: Access a server even after a server failure, power outage, or connection interruption.
  • Simple Interface: Control the server from any java-enabled web browser, even if the server is down.
