Utilizing two AMD Opteron™ 6100 series processors, the AX-2208 delivers 24 processing cores and 256GB DDR3 memory with 16 DIMM sockets. The AX-2208's 2U chassis contains 8 SAS/SATA hot-swappable hard drive bays and a high-efficiency, redundant power supply. The AMD Opteron™ 6100 is the industry's first twelve-core x86 processor and comes with many features to improve performance. Quad Channel Memory features double the memory of older Opteron™ generations. The AX-2208 also utilizes AMD's HyperTransport™ 3.0 Technology and PCI-Express 2.0 to deliver incredible I/O performance and communication up to 6.4GT/s. iXsystems' AX-2208 server series showcases AMD Virtualization™ 2.0 as well. With this updated technology, servers may enable devices to be directly assigned to virtual machines, boost I/O performance within VMs, and isolate VM addresses for improved security. Remote Management
