JOB TITLE: Sr. Software Engineer

JOB DUTIES:
- Develop and improve services, processes, and overall quality of the FreeBSD operating system.
- FreeBSD driver development
- FreeBSD kernel development
- Resolving software bugs that affect the security of FreeBSD in a timely fashion.
- Responding to vendor inquiries regarding security issues.
- Monitoring the appropriate channels for reports of bugs, exploits, and other circumstances that may affect the security of a FreeBSD system.
- Make enhancements to the FreeBSD userland libraries and utilities to provide better usability and performance.
- Work with vendors to ensure FreeBSD has up‐to‐date hardware driver support.
- Maintenance and extension of ZFS file system ported to FreeBSD.
- Manage full life‐cycle development of enterprise applications and operating system improvements.
- Develop prototype and architecture for new concepts and technology
- Design and Architect cutting‐edge storage and embedded systems.
- Provide technical guidance to Managers, Project Managers, and Developers.
- Manage all the deliverables using Project Management techniques including
- planning, estimating, tracking and oversight, quality management, risk management, and communication management.
- Assist in the recruiting, building, and nurturing of a high performance development team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science (or foreign equivalent) degree in Computer Science & Technology or related field plus minimum 5 years of experience in job offered.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
C/C++, PHP, SQL/x86 assembly language programming skills; engineering group skills; tools/environment skills; technical writing skills.
