Chief Executive Officer
Michael brings a wealth of experience in sales and management to the iXsystems team. Formerly the Vice President of Sales at BSDi, Michael was responsible for sales operations worldwide. In his role as CEO, Michael provides a strong vision for the company's future. Michael studied Economics at UC Berkeley.
Chief Science Officer
Matt has 20 years of enterprise networking and systems analysis experience and is responsible for the over-all technical vision of the company. A long time BSD advocate, Matt is a member of the FreeBSD Project's Marketing and Public Relations teams. Matt was previously Director of IT at BSDi. He is on the BSD Certification Board, and is the Project Director of PC-BSD®.
Executive Vice President
As a graduate of high honors from the University of California Santa Barbara, with a degree in Communications, Brett has a passion for business development and more than 14 years of experience in the High Tech Industry. Beginning more than a decade ago as the sole dedicated Sales Associate on the founding team, he has led and scaled the Sales Team in lockstep with the company’s growth and now focuses on shepherding the Sales, Marketing, Support, and Operations Divisions, collectively, into the future.
Chief Technology Officer
Jordan is responsible for leading iXsystems’s engineering and development efforts, while leveraging and extending the company’s position in the storage and server markets. Jordan is a co-founder of The FreeBSD Project and a long-time executive employee of iXsystems’s corporate ancestors, BSDi and Walnut Creek CD-ROM. Most recently he served as Director of UNIX Technology at Apple, where he led development of BSD and Unix technologies that comprise the foundation for Mac OS X® and iOS.
Director of Public Relations
Denise manages the development, implementation, and coordination of external public relations strategies for iXsystems, with the goal of gaining recognition in the market, promoting iXsystems’ storage and server offerings, and establishing iXsystems as a leader in the tech industry. Denise graduated from Harvard University with highest honors and earned her MBA from the Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business with a concentration in Marketing Management. Denise is a member of the FreeBSD Marketing Team, and she staffs the FreeBSD Project booth at various national and international tradeshows.
Director of Sales
Matt is responsible for leading the sales team and has a passion for business development. A veteran of iXsystems since 2006, Matt is an expert at system configuration and designing complex solutions to meet iXsystems clients needs. Matt is also VTSP (VMWare Technical Sales Professional) certified.
Director of IT
Josh is in his second decade of providing solutions based on BSD technology and contributing to open source projects, such as FreeBSD, PC-BSD, and FreeNAS. He studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota's Institute of Technology before embarking on a career focused on computers. His current role at iXsystems encompasses a tactical and strategic understanding of storage technologies and their roles in infrastructure.
Director of PC-BSD® Software Development
Kris Moore is the founder and lead developer of the PC-BSD project, which aims to bring FreeBSD's stability and security to a desktop environment. Kris graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with his degree in Business Information Systems, and prior to working at iXsystems spent almost a decade supporting and developing software for UNIX systems. Kris is also a FreeBSD ports committer.
Director of Customer Service
Nothing means more to Paul than the client experience. From the moment of initial deployment to their very first support case, Paul is always ensuring that each client has a memorable, unique and excellent experience. After 8 years of providing phenomenal client support for iXsystems, he has recently been promoted to Director of Customer Service. Through his new position of leadership, Paul has helped expand the support team, influence each individual, and increase the overall capabilities of iXsystems.
Austin received his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification and completed coursework for the Cisco Certified Network Engineer program. Austin has experience working in Data, Cable, and Wiring at Cupertino Electric prior to joining the iXsystems team. Austin has nearly 10 years experience in server integration and manufacturing.
Chris Williams is the Production Manager at iXsystems. He started at the bottom in the Production department and worked his way to the top. Chris has a degree in Liberal Arts, with a science, math and engineering emphasis and served honorably in the United States Air Force as communication-computer systems controller. During his six years in the Air Force, he served all over the United States and middle east, supporting communication for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was named the 305 Air Mobility Wing professional of the year in 2003.
Technical Documentation Specialist
Dru is the lead writer and editor for the TrueNAS®, FreeNAS®, and PC-BSD® documentation sets and aims to provide users of these operating systems with professional, high-quality documentation tailored for each release. Dru has created FreeBSD-related curriculum and documentation since 1997. She is a Director at the FreeBSD Foundation, the founder and chair of the BSD Certification Group, and a FreeBSD docs committer.
Jeremy’s background includes serving for four years as a Navy IT Specialist. After that he continued sharpening his technical chops as a Computer Network Engineer for a number of companies, including the Office of the Mayor of San Diego, California. From the get-go he has had a keen interest in online entrepreneurship and marketing. He has invested his time and money in testing and applying online strategies, refining those that are most reliable and profitable.
